Abstract
Diagnostic classification of the patients consulted to psychiatric outpatient department.
A clinical study on patterns and diagnostic classification for the referred patient during the latest three years was done with 202 consulted psychiatric outpatient.
Referred patient were very small in their numbers and percentages (0.25% in all outpatients).
Referral was most common in 30s and the number of female was higher than male.
Major sources of referral were internal madicine, pediatrics, and neurosurgery.
Attitude of the referred patient for the psychiatric consultation was generally negative.
Depressive neurosis was the most common of all referred patients and psychophysiolgoical disorder was the least common.
The numbers of neuroses were much more greater than psychoses.
